Why Most Diet Programs Fail In The Long Run

Diet programs are a popular solution for those that are looking to lose weight. But do they really work? As anyone that has tried several diet plans can tell you, they simply do not work.

Why is this? How can someone lose weight on a diet program and then gain it back? Why does one diet program seem to work for some people and not others? The truth is that diet programs treat the symptoms of the "disease", but not the cause.

You see, diets all try to get you to eat fewer calories. Different diet programs use different methods to achieve this. Some restrict certain types of foods while others allow you to eat anything you want as long as you count the calories and don't go over your daily allotment. But they all have the same goal -- to get you to eat fewer calories, which results in weight loss.

The problem is that overeating isn't really the cause of your size. The real cause is the emotional issues that drive you to overeat. Laura Fenamore, creator of Body Image Mastery, learned this through experience. She says that it was "always easy to lose weight. The problem was trying to keep it off."

Because most diets don't really address these emotional issues, you are likely to return to old eating habits once you lose all the weight you wanted to lose or once you get bored with the diet. This will cause you to gain all the weight back, usually with a few more pounds than you started with.

Do you know why you overeat? It's hard to take a look deep within yourself, but a good program like the Body Image Mastery course can help you to discover the underlying reasons why you make poor food choices. This is hard work -- harder than counting calories, but the end result is well worth the effort.

If you really want to be successful at weight loss, you need to address these emotional issues. You need to learn the reasons that you overeat. Once you do this, weight loss will come easily.
